Show the camera where to go
“A little to the left, now closer, but do not show everything yet.” Describing movement soon gets wordy. Kling 4.0 proposes another approach: reference materials, each defining appearance, movement, camera or style. An image shows the subject; a video guides the shot. The official guide even lists recordings of gray 3D models and depth maps as guidance for movement and camera work.
According to “Inside Kling 4.0,” a task can contain up to 15 assets. Within that shared limit, you can use up to 10 images and up to 5 videos totaling 30 seconds. If you can set up a shot, you have a way to show the idea without putting every turn into words.
First, check who has access
In its September 30 announcement, Kling says early access to Kling 4.0 Flash began on September 28 for Ultra Yearly subscribers. The full Kling 4.0 is announced for October 2026. As of October 2, the manufacturer’s materials still describe it as upcoming.
Do not assume everything in the presentation will appear in every account. The official guide also labels 10-bit HDR as “coming soon.” The idea below uses the announced reference-based workflow. We have not generated a film from it yet.
One lamp, two finishes, the same movement
Imagine starting right beside the shade’s edge. The camera pulls back, reveals the stem and finally shows the base. You could prepare that movement with a gray 3D object or film a mock-up on your phone. A separate illustration specifies the intended color, material and light.
We would keep it to one continuous shot. A detail catches your attention first; the full view then reveals the proportions. Next, plan two lamp finishes using the same camera movement. Watching them beside the 3D design, we would mainly compare material and lighting.
There is one thing we would not leave to chance: the shade and base should remain recognizable throughout the shot. An impressive film with changed proportions is showing a different object. Only a generated sample will let us judge how accurately Kling preserves those details of our idea.
